Getting Married at Valley Church
Congratulations! We rejoice
with you as you take this exciting next step in your lives! We
hold marriage in high regard and believe that God has designed marriage
to be a great gift and blessing. Our deep desire is to encourage
couples to start out on the strongest possible foundation as they enter
marriage.
If you would like to get married at Valley Church, please call us to find out what dates are available and to set up an appointment with Pastor Linton Lundeen.
Initial Pre-Marital Meeting
This is the first step to reserving your wedding date at Valley. In this session you will have
the opportunity to meet Pastor Linton and hear more about Valley Church’s
heart for Christ-centered marriages. The leaders at Valley Church have
established a marriage policy reflecting God’s design for marriage. If
it is determined that a couple meets the criteria for this biblically
based policy we will move forward with the premarital counseling and
Pastor Linton will give you a form to reserve the church for your
wedding date.
Pre-Marital Counseling
As a part of our church’s dedication to the lifetime
commitment of marriage we require that all couples participate in
premarital counseling. Our premarital counseling involves seven
sessions and uses the book Preparing for Marriage by Dennis and
Barbara Rainey. You should begin to schedule your sessions as soon as
possible so you can complete the counseling before the wedding. It is
preferable to do one session a month up until the month before the
wedding, but we can do the sessions faster if necessary. Email John Berglund to set up your premarital counseling.
Wedding Coordinator
You will be assigned a Valley Church Wedding coordinator who will help
you organize the church portion of your wedding day. The wedding
coordinator is NOT a wedding planner. She will be your guide and a
liaison between you and all the moving pieces at Valley on your wedding
day. She will make sure your experience using Valley Church goes
smoothly and will be a great asset to you on your wedding day as well as
the time leading up to that day. Your wedding coordinator will contact
you at least six weeks before the wedding. Look over the following
documents and fill them out. You will need to bring these with you the
first time you meet with your Valley Church Wedding Coordinator.
